Arose  Our  God

There is no rose

Without a thorn

There is no love

Where sins not born

Of love’s denial

A time of trial

A dark night covering

Love’s new morn

(This everlasting morn…)

There is no deep

Yet where deeper still

God is God

And Love is real

There is no pain

Yet stronger will

Be God’s love

When He shall heal

(and He shall heal….)

So if you’ve been cut on

Life’s cruel thorns

Cried out in anguish

Amidst the storm

“LORD, why was

I ever born?”

There is a Comforter

For all who mourn

(there is a Comforter…)

For God is Love

And God has sworn

His Love shall reign

Forever more

He sealed His Word

With His Own blood

With nails as thorns

Arose Our God!

A rose …Our God!

Now Jesus wore

A crown of thorns

And when he arose

On Easter morn

With crimson petals

He was adorned

Stained by our sin

His love had borne

For God is Love

And God has sworn

His Love shall reign

Forever more

He sealed His Word

With His Own blood

With nails as thorns

Arose Our God!
